This isn't a statement of distrust so much as standard risk management — an independent inspector has no incentive to overlook defects the way an in-house team theoretically might, and third-party reports are often required by retail partners or import compliance programmes regardless of how much the buyer trusts the factory directly. A manufacturer confident in its own process should have no objection to a third-party inspection being arranged; reluctance to allow independent inspection is worth treating as a caution flag.
